We are pleased to announce the 8^th Athens Postgraduate Conference of the Faculty of Philology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Αs mentioned above, this is the 8^th biennial consecutive conference, a well-established tradition, among postgraduate and PhD students, of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Τζαρτζάνεια 2015 – Τύρναβος

Τα «Τζαρτζάνεια» είναι μια συνάντηση γλωσσολογικού προσανατολισμού, που διοργανώθηκε για πρώτη φορά το 2006, με πρωτοβουλία φορέων της τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης της Θεσσαλίας (Νομαρχία Λάρισας, Δήμος Τυρνάβου), του Συνδέσμου Φιλολόγων Νομού Λάρισας και με συνδιοργανωτή το Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας, προς τιμήν του Αχιλλέα Τζάρτζανου. Μέχρι σήμερα έχουν ήδη πραγματοποιηθεί τέσσερα συνέδρια στα οποία συμμετείχαν ομιλητές μετά από πρόσκληση (2006, 2008, 2010) ή μετά από διαδικασία κρίσης των περιλήψεων (2012).
Το φετινό Συνέδριο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 6, 7 και 8 Νοεμβρίου 2015 στον Τύρναβο, γενέτειρα του Τζάρτζανου. Διοργανώνεται από την Δημοτική Βιβλιοθήκη Τυρνάβου, με συνδιοργανωτές την Περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας, τον Σύνδεσμο Φιλολόγων Νομού Λάρισας και το Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας. Η συμμετοχή στο συνέδριο θα είναι δωρεάν για ομιλητές/-ήτριες και ακροατές/-άτριες. Λεπτομέρειες για τις δυνατότητες διαμονής στον Τύρναβο ή τη Λάρισα (16 χλμ. είναι η μεταξύ τους απόσταση), για άλλες πρακτικές πληροφορίες και για τις παράλληλες πολιτισμικές εκδηλώσεις που θα οργανωθούν, θα ανακοινωθούν στις αρχές Σεπτεμβρίου.

5η Συνάντηση Εργασίας Ελληνόφωνων Μεταφρασεολόγων

Ο Τομέας Μετάφρασης του Τμήματος Γαλλικής Γλώσσας και Φιλολογίας του Α.Π.Θ. διοργανώνει την 5η Συνάντηση Εργασίας Ελληνόφωνων Μεταφρασεολόγων στις 21, 22 και 23 Μαΐου 2015.

Η συνάντηση επιδιώκει να συγκεντρώσει ερευνητές που δραστηριοποιούνται στο επιστημονικό πεδίο της μεταφρασεολογίας με σκοπό την προώθηση της έρευνας και την καθιέρωση της μεταφραστικής επιστήμης στον ελληνόφωνο χώρο.

This event will cover the latest developments in corpus tools and corpus applications through an intensive programme of interactive sessions to be run by leading figures in the field. It will provide participants with in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge methods and techniques for undertaking advanced research. This event is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students who want to improve their skills to apply corpus methods and use corpus tools in their own research. The programme aims at providing detailed introductions to the latest developments in software and techniques in the field, with practical hands-on sessions on how to employ these in your own research. Given the specialised nature of the programme, a basic understanding of corpus linguistics is recommended.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The 7th Language and Technology Conference (LTC 2015), a meeting organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz University Foundation, will take place on November 27-29, 2015.

Yes, we started 20 years ago! Our tradition goes back to the Language and Technology Awareness Days, a meeting organized in 1995 with the assistance of the European Commission (DG XIII). Among the key speakers were Antonio Zampolli (Italy), Dafydd Gibbon (Germany), Dan Tufiş (Romania), Orest Kossak (Ukraina). Now we refer to this event as the first LTC. Ten years later, we decided to meet again, and since then the conference is being organized every two years as the “Language & Technology Conference: Human Language Technologies as a
Challenge for Computer Science and Linguistics”.
