The 21th Sociolinguistics Symposium will take place in 2016 and will be hosted by the University of Murcia (Spain). Attitudes and Prestige will be the thematic orientation for Sociolinguistics Symposium 21. In addition to this major trend, contributions to any of the directions within the spectrum of the Language and Society paradigm are welcome:

Sociology of language, Social psychology of language, Discourse analysis, Conversation analysis, Ethnography of communication, Language and gender, Anthropological linguistics, Media language, Socio-stylistics, Variationist sociolinguistics, Dialectology, Geolinguistics, Historical sociolinguistics, Creole sociolinguistics, Cognitive sociolinguistics, Applied sociolinguistics, Sociolinguistic methods, etc.
