In a crisis, translators and interpreters are the cornerstone of bridging differences in written, oral, and multimodal communication. Given that these past years we have all experienced one crisis after another, it is also interesting to see how these extraordinary conditions have affected people working in this area. The Department of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting (Ionian University) is organizing a wonderful event on this issue, this coming week, on May 9th, 2002, 4:30pm (EEST). The event is free for everyone and will be conducted using Zoom.

As the event description states in the event programme, “This event focuses on the significance of translation and interpreting in crisis settings, as well as on the impact that such settings may have on interpreters”. You can read about it on DFLTI’s site, you can download the programme from this current message, or you can register for the event directly. For questions, problems or anything related to the event, feel free to email Dr. Vilelmini Sosoni using the address: sosoni [at sign] ionio.gr.
